Summer is heating up, and there’s no better way to cool off than a day at the YMCA Thurston Waterpark  in Fredericksburg, VA! What to Expect
The YMCA Thurston Waterpark isn’t just a pool—it’s a full-on splash zone with something for everyone:
Water slides that twist and turn for young thrill-seekers
Zero-depth entry play area perfect for little ones
Lap lanes for more serious swimmers
On-duty lifeguards to keep your family safe ( still please always watch your children) 
Plenty of shaded seating and green space for picnics
Concessions: there is a concession stand for snacks 

Hours of Operation
The waterpark is typically open daily during summer, including weekends. Hours may vary slightly based on weather and staffing, so it’s best to call ahead or check online before your visit. Also water park hours vary based on swim team meets and special events, ( click here for hours)

The YMCA Thurston water park is open to everyone. Everyone has an opportunity to purchase a day pass, or a season pass. 
YMCA Members Day Pass: $15  ( Monday - Friday)
$10 (Sunday)
$10 ( every day after 5pm)
YMCA Non-members:     
 $20 ( monday - friday ) 
$15 ( Sunday)   
$15 ( Every day after 5 pm

Season Pass Information
The YMCA Thurston Waterpark offers multiple season Pass options. 
10 pack water park day pass 2025  
This deal saves up to 20% this pass gives you the freedom to enjoy 10 individual visits yourself or bring family and friends along to share the fun. Each additional guest simply uses one pass from the pack.

YMCA Non-Member: $160.00

Individual Season Pass 2025 
The individual season water park pass is available all summer long which means an individual aged 16+ can attend the water park all season long without paying the daily entry fee. The individual season pass is available to use until the closing of the season.

Pro Tips:
Consider a seasonal family membership  if you plan to visit frequently—it may save you money in the long run and give access to other Y amenities!

Pack like a pro:

Leave glass containers, alcohol, and inflatables at home.
PSA: I had a great time at the Thurston Waterpark, Everyone is welcoming and friendly. I only had a few things to note, one being that the bathroom/ changing room was very small and crowded. There was no separate changing area other than the stall. Also the showers did not have Curtains so modest changing was a bit challenging.
