Dr. Diana Almy, a board-certified orthodontist who has served patients—children and adults—for more than 17 years, is Fredericksburg Parent & Family magazine’s 2022 Family Favorites Winner for Health & Wellness (Orthodontist). Fredericksburg Orthodontics is led by Dr. Almy and Dr. Mari Arroyo-Pratt, and they work alongside with patients to provide them with the results they want.
From the minute visitors walk in the door, there’s a friendly atmosphere that alleviates stress. The orthodontists, hygienists and office administrators take the time to know patients and offer a comfortable office setting. There are a variety of services, treating everything from open bites and overbites to crowding, spacing and other forms of misalignment. The practice offers:
- Braces: Modern braces are more comfortable and effective than ever. There are many types of braces, such as metal, ceramic and lingual, and the staff will explain the options and help patients choose the best one for them.
- Invisalign: This is an alternative to braces, with the individual wearing clear, removable trays that gradually move teeth into place. The molds are changed every two weeks. Progress is tracked by using the ClinCheck smartphone app, and Almy will make sure patients are on the right track.
- Retainers: Traditional retainers, clear aligners and fixed retainers will make sure the teeth stay straight.
- Orthodontic Emergencies: The practice is available for emergencies; however, these are rare, so patients should contact the general dentist prior to making an emergency call.
A graduate of Randolph-Macon College (magna cum laude) with a bachelor of science degree in biology and chemistry, Almy received her doctor of dental surgery from Virginia Commonwealth University School (VCU) of Dentistry. She earned a master of science degree from VCU School of Dentistry and a certificate in orthodontics.
Fredericksburg Orthodontics is located at 10618 Spotsylvania Avenue in Fredericksburg. For more information, call the office at 540-701-8607 or text 540-779-8955.
