CRRL Tutoring

Aug 30, 2022 06:00AM ● By Lenora Kruk-Mullanaphy

The Central Rappahannock Regional Library (CRRL) is known for its vast collection of books, professional staff and facilities that offer work areas, computers and meeting spaces. Now, there’s another support system for library customers of every age to success—a tutoring, homework help and study resource called HelpNow: Online Tutoring.

With a library card, live tutoring is available from 2 p.m. to 11 p.m. daily. Brainfuse tutors hold bachelor’s degrees and training prior to becoming part of the library’s tutoring service.

The resources include the following:

  • Expert writing guidance: real-time work with a tutor on brainstorming, revising and more.
  • Skill-building lessons, videos and practice quizzes: covers an expansive list of academic subjects.
  • Language Lab: live help to English for Speakers of other Languages (E.S.O.L.) students.
There’s so much more to help students get the most out of their education with tools they can use to excel, such as the LEAP Learning Platform, which is a diagnostic test center with customized study plans, lessons and live tutoring. FlashBulb features flashcards, and students are given tools to make their own. The Foreign Language Lab includes on-demand tutoring support and vocabulary building.

For students deciding on a major in college or finding a fulfilling career, eParachute is available. It matches their skills and interests to majors and careers.

HelpNow offers a variety of ways to learn like scheduling sessions with study buddies in its online classroom. Students can also create and share notes on a Whiteboard to play later through Brainwave.

Brainfuse also offers the Adult Learning Center for individuals heading back to school, changing careers or polishing up on academic skills. Live experts teach Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. High School Equivalency Preparation helps with test-taking skills and coaching.
