Fredericksburg Social Services Offices Close Temporarily

May 19, 2020 04:13PM ● By Fred Parent Contributor

The City of Fredericksburg is temporarily closing the Fredericksburg Social Services offices located at 608 Jackson Street until Thursday, May 21. The Rappahannock Area Health District office has confirmed that one of their employees has tested positive. The employee was not assigned to the Fredericksburg office, but out of an abundance of caution, the City is closing the building for deep cleaning in accordance with the CDC recommendations. The Health Department is working through their contact tracing procedure, but at this time it is not believed that City staff have been exposed.  This is a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of our staff and we anticipate reopening the building on Friday, May 22nd.

For routine inquiries and non-emergency matters, callers may contact the Social Services Department at 540 372-1032 where they have changed our greeting with the closure information. Messages left will be checked frequently. They may also contact their individual worker by e-mail. Finally, during normal business hours, call 540-940-2401 for emergency needs or to make a APS/CPS referrals. After business hours, call: 800-552-7096 (Child Protective Services Hotline) or 888-832-3858 (Adult Protective Services Hotline).
