It's February and love is in the air (or the marketing in the stores). Whether you celebrate Valentine's Day or not, this time of year is always a great time to remind yourself and your spouse about the love in your relationship. When you've been together for a while, it can be a challenge to come up with new, fun, exciting and romantic things to do as a couple. It's time to add a little spice, a kick or even a kick-start for those romantic feelings.

[fusion_dropcap boxed="no" boxed_radius="" class="" id="" color="#cc3f3f" text_color=""]1[/fusion_dropcap] Schedule a Couples Massage. Steal away for an hour or so and schedule time at Massage Envy Fredericksburg or Winning Image Salon and Day Spa for a couples massage. It's a wonderful way to de-stress together.

[fusion_dropcap boxed="no" boxed_radius="" class="" id="" color="#cc3f3f" text_color=""]2[/fusion_dropcap] Dinner Under the Stars. Pack for an evening picnic or even better, pick up dinner from Bistro Bethem and some fancy drinks from Capital Ale House and spend some quality time together. Make sure you bring blankets and candles or lanterns and have a romantic dinner for two under the stars. If you can't get away, wait till the young ones are in bed and make a picnic on the living room floor.

[fusion_dropcap boxed="no" boxed_radius="" class="" id="" color="#cc3f3f" text_color=""]3[/fusion_dropcap] Repeat a First Date. Maybe your dating years and courtship are long behind you? Why not repeat a date you went on when you first met? Do something that brings back the memories of the heart flutters and intense interest. Repeat the time of your first kiss.

[fusion_dropcap boxed="no" boxed_radius="" class="" id="" color="#cc3f3f" text_color=""]4[/fusion_dropcap] Purposely Flirt. Remember the days when you used to flirt with each other? Go out of your way to do so again. Your skills might be rusty, but they're still there. Leave a love note, or send a flirtatious text or a playful email. Maybe something along the lines of "I felt a disturbance in the force...where you thinking about me?"

[fusion_dropcap boxed="no" boxed_radius="" class="" id="" color="#cc3f3f" text_color=""]5[/fusion_dropcap] Go Geocaching. This one you can do with the entire family. It's a new era of hide-and-seek or treasure hunting. Check out www.geocaching.com, download an app for your smart phone and set out to see what treasures people have hidden in the local area. Make sure you take along a few treasures to leave behind in trade for the ones you take.

Bonus One? Sexy Scrabble – Play traditional Scrabble, but only spell out romantic and sexy words... just try not to giggle when you come up with the good ones!

The key? Never stop dreaming. Be creative. Remember to play. Relationships take work; they don't run on magic. Being a parent is a big job with a lot of stress, responsibility and more rewards than we can ever imagine. Every so often stop, take a moment and just be in the moment with your partner. Enjoy some laughter, surprise each other and go out of your way to do something fun and silly.

You might be surprised when and where the romance sparks.
